Is swimsuit season over? Absolutely not!

This week only, you can try Free Aquatic Classes at Columbus Aquatic Center! Test your balance, strength and core – on water!! This full body workout will allow you to continue to rock that swimsuit! If you like it, join the paid classes starting September 15! Don’t forget your swim cap and towel!

How are your cooking skills??

Tonight 5:30-7pm, you can whip up some new dishes at the next cooking class at the Columbus Wellness Center. Seating is limited so if I were you, I’d call promptly after reading this. The “World of Grains” is the topic, and you will be a-‘maized’ at what you will learn!

Garage Saling for a cause!

The Columbus Senior Center is hosting a 2-day garage sale on Sept 11-12th starting at 7:30am with proceeds used to reduce costs at the Senior Center. Miscellaneous items and clothing up for grabs! Great deals and supporting a great cause – count me in!

Hey kids – storytime with Heather Dawn Torres!

Go to the library and hear Heather Dawn Torres read her book, ‘The Tractor Squad’ on September 11 at 10:30am! You can even buy her book at Terrace Bookstore

Homemade salads, tasty treats and more!

Check this out! The Immanuel Lutheran Salad Luncheon is serving a delicious lunch for only $12 and is open to the public! Head to the Family Life Center in downtown Columbus 11am-1pm and support the Youth Missions group. BONUS: Enjoy some tasty homemade goodies!! There’s nothing better than this!! 

Hot Diggity Dog – it’s a hot dog lovers dream!

Who knew there were so many options for hot dogs – The Hawaiian, The Slaw Me, The MC, The Overseas and so many more to choose from! The dogs come out Friday, Sept 12 at the Eagles Club starting at 5:30pm and proceeds will go to the Spinal Cord Injury Fund!

Sounds, Suds & Sangria

SeptemberFest is Saturday, Sept 13 at 7:30pm at Eagles! LIVE music from Unfinished Business and Finding Gotham taking the stage for a rocking good time! Enjoy sloppy joes, salads and sweets for only $10. It’s a night of great music, good food and plenty of cheer!

Guitar strings and country melodies…

LIVE music at Shenanigans starting at 8pm on Friday with the Betsie River Boys & Lacey Watson! Listen to some old country tune from the likes of Steve Earle, John Cougar, Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings! Take a step back in time and enjoy a few drinks while you listen. Of course, we ask you to drink responsibly! 🙂

Come back on Saturday for Gotcha Covered starting at 8pm. These seem to be good date night options! [Insert thinking emoji – haha] 

Food, Cars, Bikes, Animals and more…

Paws for a Cause is hosting their 4th Annual Car & Bike Show Saturday (noon) at Gene Steffy Ford. Food, door prizes, music, and of course, great cars, trucks and bikes to view! Free will donations go to Paws and Claws. 

Gun Show open!

On Sunday, Sept 14, load up and see the Gun Show at Ag Park and sponsored by the Columbus Rifle Club! Doors open at 9am and close at 4pm. There will be so many to see!

Lindsay Area Development Wellness Center Grand Opening – (Sun., Sept 21) Rolls, coffee, juice and a view of their new facility.

51st Annual Columbus Marching Festival is Sat. Sept. 27 with the parade at 10 am and field competition at 1pm. (Last week I had the date wrong, so please update your calendars with the Saturday date!) There is a new route using 14th street past Frankfort Square. It is also NSBA-sanctioned competition featuring 20 bands competing across six classifications! Come out and support this fantastic event! 

Sweet Harvest Popcorn Shoppe Customer Appreciation Event (Sept 26 & 27) – sticky, buttery, delicious deals ahead!!
